My biggest collegiate goal is to better myself as a person on and off the field. I would like to obtain the best college education possible. This has always been the dream for my family and I. Additionally, I would like to pursue my soccer career and challenge myself to become a better player. My work ethic is my greatest strength both athletically and academically. I have been playing competitive soccer since I was four and club soccer since I was seven years old. Soccer has taught me how to work within a team and how everyone has a specific role. I am very coachable and can adapt to any situation. I have always been a strong and fast-paced player. My hard work and desire for the game is what defines me as a player.
In 2016, I was diagnosed with Osgood-Schlatter, a disease that causes sharp pain and swelling below the knee joint. The pain was excruciating and it progressively got worse. It affected my performance as a player. My faith in God helped me to overcome it. In 2018, our club team was ranked #10 in New Jersey. We found a way to win against a number of teams that were expected to beat us. We played the #1 ranked team in New Jersey in the State Cup Finals. During quarantine in 2020, I did a lot of plyometrics and physical therapy. I defeated Osgood-Schlatter by training harder than ever before. I learned that any goal is achievable with hard work and perseverance. I am very dedicated, focused, and passionate about the game. I hope to be given the opportunity to demonstrate my development to my coaches and make them proud of me as an academically strong student-athlete and an overall good person.
