Personal Statement
Hi, my name is David Ayoola I attend arts high school in Newark new jersey. I play for the soccer team of West Side High School Newark because my high school does not have a soccer team. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. I started playing in Nigeria West Africa which is where I was born. I moved to the united states and continued my interest in soccer not discouraged at the fact that it’s not taken as seriously as we take soccer in Nigeria. I play as a wing forward and offensive back. These are positions I have played and I’m always open to new positions.
My main goal is to play in the champions league someday. In spite of my dreams and aspirations, my education is also very important to me. Over the years I have grown to learn that it can’t be just one person in a team but every single player in the team is what makes the team. Being with my teammates has also improved my personality, teamwork, and my team spirit making me a better person.
Playing soccer is a way I get to connect with Nigeria. It is a big connection to my childhood. Playing soccer at a college-level will definitely make me closer to my dreams and aspirations. I hope to continue my education while playing soccer for a school with good quality education.
