William Flaherty '20 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals are to play 4 years of college soccer at the highest level for me personally. I am an outside back from Point Pleasant, New Jersey. I have been playing soccer for over 10 years and would greatly appreciate any opportunity I am given to continue my athletic career at the collegiate level. I attend Point Pleasant Borough High School and I am a member of the 2020 graduating class. I have been playing varsity soccer since my sophomore year as a starter. What separates me from other recruits is that I am willing to push myself to the limit to be the best player and student I can possibly be. I have been able to maintain a GPA of a 3.9 while continuing to challenge myself in school by taking numerous honors and AP classes throughout my high school career. Balancing soccer, baseball, and a challenging academic schedule has been very difficult. However I have been able to manage it well because of my work ethic and dedication to success in every aspect of my life. 

The idea of playing college soccer became a reality for me this year. I realized that entering my senior year this could not be my last year ever playing soccer. Soccer has been such a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. My love for the sport is something I can't express in words and my life would be incomplete without it. Soccer has taught me so much about life, hard work, and dedication over the years. I simply can not give it up and will continue to do everything I can to give myself an opportunity to play at the next level. What makes me a good candidate is I will always come prepared to get better everyday and work to achieve my full potential as a player.
