Personal Statement
It has been a dream of mine to play college soccer ever since I started playing at the age of 5. Passionate is an understatement to describe my love for the game. Unsure whether I would even make the varsity team my freshman season, I battled and competed with my teammates in order to earn one of the roster spots. I had to learn from my older teammates, as I did not start my freshmen year, but was a consistent player off the bench. After each season, I grew as a player and person, and will look to provide my high school team with the leadership qualities I learned over the course of my whole career, as I will be the Captain for my team this upcoming 2017 Season. My overall goal is to compete at the next level, whether it’s at a Division I, II, or III College or University. I have earned All-Conference, All-County, First Team All Group 1, and Second Team All Central New Jersey Honors. Along with these accomplishments, I have scored 35 goals and assisted on 19 in my high school career. This past season, my team and I won our Conference and the North II Group I Sectional Championship. After playing these three seasons, I have demonstrated growth and improvement on and off the field. Not only do I demonstrate a strong work ethic on the field, but also the same thing can be said about myself in the classroom. Along with playing soccer at the next level, I want to earn a degree at a school in which I feel comfortable academically and in the classroom. I think that obtaining a great education is very important, and is something I have demonstrated my entire high school career. I have maintained a 4.04 weighted Grade Point Average, with taking Honors and Advanced Placement courses. Also, I am a member of the National Honor Society at Jonathan Dayton High School. I live, breathe, and sleep soccer, and I hope to continue the same thing for the next four years after I graduate.
