Personal Statement
The 90 minutes I spend defending on a soccer field for both Westfield High School Boys Soccer and PDA U16 MLS/NEXT and ECNL teams are my favorite minutes of any day. I look forward to bringing all my experience, both from high level club soccer as well as through participating in one of the top public high school soccer programs in New Jersey, to my future collegiate soccer career.
While soccer is an integral part of my life, I am also focused on an academically rigorous experience that will allow me to explore different business concentrations, including finance, accounting, or sports management. I am a strong student who enjoys working with other students on projects and collectively learned experiences. In addition to soccer, I am a member of Student Government and the Spanish Club in my high school. Outside of high school, I volunteer with a program called 'Buddy Ball', which allows me to share my love of soccer with children and young adults with disabilities.
As the Captain of the PDA 2005 ECNL Academy team, I love nothing more than encouraging my teammates, communicating field spacing, and leading our defense against our opponents. As a captain I am responsible for reviewing game footage, leading portions of practice and pre-game warm-ups, setting a composed yet passionate tone for the game, and modeling the sportsmanship that is expected of a captain.
It is my goal to bring all of these learned experiences to a quality collegiate soccer program so that I can continue both my athletic and academic careers.
