I have grown up playing soccer and other sports all my life. I was a gymnast for several years and I have to say this helped me learn how take risks and fall correctly playing soccer. I truly fell in love with soccer and primarily pursued this sport, when my club held a soccer camp one summer and the coaches were college soccer players from the UK. Since then, playing soccer at a higher level like those coaches has been my dream goal. I am very competitive and driven. I will not stop working and giving my all to this sport until I have achieved my goals.
I have had a lot of challenges in the past year. Just before COVID closed our state soccer programs, I had a Jones fracture and had also decided to change soccer teams after 6 years so that I could continue to grow as a player. Switching club teams during partial shutdowns was rough, and then I changed High Schools as well going into Junior year. I was also diagnosed with ADD the beginning of Junior year, after a rough online COVID experience, and started medication which has finally helped to mesh my academic abilities with school grades. But these challenges helped me to refocus my goals both in school and in soccer. I currently play soccer for La Cueva High School, which is one of the best high schools for soccer in New Mexico and the US. LCHS builds excellent soccer players but also focuses on good sportsmanship, respect for others, being humble, as well as fulfilling student responsibilities. I also play club soccer with the New Mexico Soccer Academy after the high school season ends. My goal is to play college soccer with a great team, great students and good people, and to see how far I can take soccer in and after college.
