Outside of sports, I am a very respectful, kind, religious person. I love spending time with my family and friends. School work is very important to me, especially having a strict father and mother along with a brother who is way smarter than me. Pressure is real but I like a challenge. With soccer and school, I can still maintain a 90+ average and get better on the field, and still try my best to hang out with my family and friends when I have the time.
When it comes to soccer I am always striving to get better. I am a quick learner and will always give my 110% on and off the pitch. My speed, my skills, along with a lot of abilities has got me very far but not far enough. There are a lot of places in where I lack, mentally and physically, but I will overcome those challenges as soon as possible so I can take my club and high school team very far!
More about me and soccer (optional to read): I started focusing a lot on soccer after I got cut from the middle school team, I was in 8th grade. It did not take long for me to fall in love with the sport. Many of my friends have played at a very young age and they would have a lot of trophies and I really wanted one. My parents are both immigrants who came from Bangladesh who wanted to give their son a good education, that was their focus, they loved soccer, especially because my grandpa played a lot of it throughout his childhood in Bangladesh. The reason why it didn’t come to me young was because my parents were new to America and had no idea how to sign me up or how to get me involved with the sport, so they didn’t bother trying.Soccer was coming to me as soon as I started paying attention to the games my dad was seeing on TV, soccer was coming close to me because I found it amazing and fun when I was kicking the ball around, learning new skills and more with the ball. I didn’t know I could fall in love with a ball, it just didn’t make sense, but in the end, I fell in love with not just the ball, but the sport, the players, and I told myself that I want to be a soccer player. When my grandpa came to America for the first time, soccer came to me. My grandpa taught me a lot. I thought soccer was easy because all the players made it look very easy, but your timing, your touch, everything is important. I didn’t take it seriously on my first ever tryout with my middle school team, for what could be my first ever team, I was lost which led me to get cut which was fair, but I didn’t stop there. I knew the potential I had, I like thinking of thousands of fans screaming my name, I love thinking of myself holding trophies continuously, so I worked as hard as I could straight in my backyard working through drills I got from youtube so I can make the high school team. I got better and learned a lot more about the sport, and I was ready for JV. Fast forward to high school and I finally made it to JV. After the season ended I got my first ever award because I scored a hat-trick in 11 minutes, but it wasn’t enough for me. I want a state title and hope to win it this season as it is my senior year. After I graduate and if I play college ball (which I want to) I want to win a lot more trophies. As of right now I want to give a lot for my Varsity team and a lot for my club, Connetquot United (14th in New York East, from gotsoccer.com). Although I started late, this is my story, and this is my sport, and I want to play this sport for as long as possible.
