Personal Statement
My favorite part of being on a sports team is the atmosphere of being on a team, doing my part on multiple fronts and being able to rely on people with the same mindset. Yes , I always have the HUNGER to win, if it means me sprinting until both my calves cramp at the same time like my last game, so be it. When it comes to discipline, I workout by myself any day I don't have practice in order to be the best player I can be, when at a college , I know it will only be better because I will have a group of teammates who share the same hunger. When it comes to character, I find it important to eliminate any doubt from my teammates, when it's pouring outside and people are questioning if we'll have practice, I just ask "why wouldn't we". Going to a specialized Highschool ranked 5th in New York State comes with the hardships of a work load. My school does not pour money into sports and because of that most of the accomplishments made by teams are because of dedication. With a work load of a Specialized High School I have learned how to manage my time, I see students at my school complaining about "not having enough time" and I ask them what they do after school. This is usually met with the response of "playing videos games" or "nothing" and I really begin to wonder how they use up their time doing absolutely nothing. I always feel the need to do something, train, study, plan out my day, anything that will keep me active and feeling productive. I hope a school will give me the chance to show them what kind of student I am, what spirit I bring, and what hunger I bring on the field, Thank You!
