Personal Statement

To be able to classify myself in any way would be very hard. I am a very well rounded Student-athlete and enjoy playing all kinds of sports. I am a team player and enjoy learning any new skills that enable me to become the best athlete i could possibly be. I am 5' 10" tall and weigh around 145-150 pounds. As a high school senior I played varsity soccer, CYO basketball, and Varsity baseball. One thing i have noticed is the "out of school club play". I do not have any clubs arounfd my area to my knowledge and havent played any club sports. This doesnt mean i am not capable of playing college soccer and having great grades. Though i may play many sports, my heart goes out to soccer and playing goalkeeper. I love the position and work hard to accomplish peak performance every day. My hard work definitely payed off in my senior year. I started playng goalie in my junior year and rose up to become starting goalkeeper at the first scrimmage. I started the whole year over a senior due to my hard work, hustle, and dedication to the position. My senior year i recorded 146 saves with 12 goals allowed and our team won 8 out of our 16 games. I recorded a save percentage of .922 placing first in my division. Also, at the end of the season i recieved first team all-northern, defensive MVP of the north division. As a goalkeeper i led our team with strong vocal calls to make sure our defense was in check and on the right marks. I love the responsibility of goalkeeper and enjoy making that huge save to keep the win. As a goalkeeper, i would love to play as a freshman in college. And if that means working my butt off for the starting psition as goalkeeper, then i will gladly ablige to being the best. As far as colleges go, i have been accepted into SUNY Brockport and  am hoping to play soccer for their college. However, if i can get into any college within a 5 state radius on New York to play soccer, I am willing to take a look at any college interested that has an Athletic Training major. The reason im interested in athletic training is because it will allow me to work with sports my whole life which is a dream of mine. I love sports and will never stray away from them as long as i live. My dreams may be big, but I am a young man whos family has hit a financial wall with both my mother and step-father being disabled. My mother has had chrones disease for some time and has been constantly in and out of hospitals. Financial aid is a must have in order to live out my dream.
