Personal Statement
Some people say that to be a goalkeeper you have to be crazy. I really don't know that if its true or not, but I do know playing goalkeeper has helped considerably with my confidence. I know every one say's these general comments to impress and sound genuine, but I really think I am though. The nature of the position molds you into a leader on field even though you could be naturally reserved. Me, I take it upon myself to be vocal and directive on the field, sorta like field coach. And I think that helps me be a leader, I would say because my teammates have to trust that I make good decisions and help them set up defensively and they know that if they mess up. I will be there to back them up and support them and vice versa.
Now I'm not only about soccer, I am a student. I'm big into science, technology and engineering. I am currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program in my high school where I am earning college credits through a local college. However Biology or Pre-Med Is what I'm looking to study when I go to college. I see myself becoming a Doctor in the Future. I'm also somewhat of an avid History buff, I'm fond of WW2 history. I'm into comic books(Batman Fan) and of course video games.
I don't know what else to say about myself except that I know I don't play for the most talented academy and clubs programs or high school team where the players get a lot of exposure to college scouts. I don't come from a family that has financial means that can allow me the ability to play for these programs. However that doesn't diminish the fact that I can work just as hard and compete with players of that level if given the chance. I know I'm going to college, but I would love to have a chance to play soccer as well.
