- I served as Parent Head Coach for Kai Tisza's youth teams from B11 through B14, including seven full seasons (spring and fall, with the final Spring 2020 season cancelled due to COVID-19) and 20 to 30 tournaments and Cup competitions. These teams competed up to a Premier Travel level and competed with some of the best club programs in the New York City area. Kai grew into one of the two strongest players on this very strong team. Initially his speed, game intelligence, and leadership made him a practically unbeatable center back, but his intense work ethic over the years developed him into an all-around star, becoming one of our team's best passers and a leading scorer. In B13 and B14 Kai could play anywhere on the field and was generally deployed to the most important situational roles, whether as an attacking midfielder, striker, defensive midfielder, or center back. Kai's authoritative presence made him the team captain by acclamation, exhibiting a leadership which combined support and exhortation. Off the field, he was one of the most mature individuals I've ever coached and always had a greeting and a respectful word.

- I studied Full Contact Karate when I was 5 years old and stopped to focus on soccer when I was 11. While studying Karate I trained under Grandmaster Soshu Shigeru Oyama and his student and my Sensei Matsumoto Daisuke. I achieved the level of the 5th Kyu.
