Justin Worst '24 Recruiting Profile

I love the game, the practices and team commraderie of soccer. I've been in love with the sport since a very early age and want to continue to play throughout college and beyond if possible. I am the first one to show up on the field for practices and games to ensure I’m mentally and physically ready when the practice begins or when the whistle blows. I like to lead by example and want to get the most out of my abilities. I love to smile, laugh and have fun being around others. I'm determined to get the most out of my academic and athletic abilities and hope I get a chance to play at the next level at a very competitive academic institution. Growing up I always played offense and was usually the leading goal scorer on my rec and travel teams but a few years ago, my club team had a few injuries on our defense and I told the coach I'll step in and help if he needed. He took me up on the offer and I fell in love with it. I knew I'd be giving up the recognition and having the opportunity for exposure that a goal scorer receives in both my club and high school career, so it was truly an honor this past high school season to receive first team All-County, especially in Nassau County where the competition is fierce. My high school coach moved me to center-mid the last 3 games of the season heading into the playoffs and most likely I'll be playing that my senior year.  Although I'll miss defense for high high school, I'm happy to pivot to help the team and will continue to hone my defensive skills as a starter for my club team which consists of a longer season and tournament play throughout the year. I'm very fast, agile and take pride in seeing the entire field and making crisp passes that generates opportunities and containing whoever is coming at me with the ball. Through continued hard work, training, focus, discipline and being a total team player, I do believe I will add a lot of value at the college level. I hope to be able to get that opportunity for a college that sees my full potential.
