My name is Seth Moores and I’m from Nova Scotia, Canada. I am proud to play for Black Rock FC and Northwood School in Lake Placid, New York. I am a sophomore and currently play as a winger/wingback on our U17 team.
This is a great time to tell you my family really believes in something called “Who Luck”..:being lucky with who you meet and taking direction from them.
I was a hockey player and loving soccer when I met a local University soccer coach AND an ex-Czech Academy player and local Soccer Tech Director that fed my love for soccer. My first two bits of Who luck!
It became my passion and when I got lucky and had a chance to train with Jacob Shaffelburg (Berkshire School grad, now with Toronto FC in MLS) from my hometown, I found someone else who shared my passion, even though he’s still mad I ‘megged him in one of our sessions.
He told me about the opportunities to train at a higher level at a place like Berkshire AND that I should also meet a guy named Coach Moodey (the coach who recruited him), who was now at a place called Northwood School running Blackrock FC. Who luck again!
Since landing at Northwood a year ago, I have had to become more disciplined on and off the pitch to keep up. Northwood is a great building ground of habits for me to prepare for our sport and the academics at an excellent college with Division I Soccer. Shaffie was right!
I have loved training with senior classmen who are headed to DI schools (more Who luck!) and the academic habits these leaders have shown me will stay with me along my journey.
It’s a good time to tell you that my nickname at school is Crosby (my actual middle name) for my Nova Scotia connection to some hockey player who’s had a pretty good run in my old sport.
Now for my next bit of Who luck…
