My name is Alex Elconin, and I am a Senior at Somers High School, in Westchester County, New York, graduating in 2017. Since I was in Middle School, I have been a year ahead in my math and science studies. I am currently taking AP Economics and AP Environmental Science. I have a GPA of 89 overall and take honors classes in English and Math. I am also on track to receive college credit before graduating high school for calculus and my most recent ACT score is a 29. My most recent SAT score is a 1320.
I am currently 5'11" and 150 lbs. I usually play outside back or center defensive mid, and I am a natural lefty. I am currently playing for FC Westchester and my high school's varsity team. The teams I have played on have done very well and in the 2014 season my club team placed 2nd in state cup. This year (2016) my varsity team was the class A State Champions. As left back, I played for all of every game and my defensive line and I only allowed 3 total goals against in our 8 play-off games. My awareness of players on the field, athleticism, and ability to start the attack out of the back gives my team an edge on counter attacks. I am interested in a strong liberal arts program. I am especially interested in economics or possibly a biological science track.
