Personal Statement
I have been playing soccer since I was four years old and have loved it ever since. I played center back most of my career and was a backup goalkeeper for many years. Three years ago, I switched to focus fully on being a goalkeeper. I am currently 6’3” and growing, very flexible and highly coachable. I am very vocal on the field and my prior experience as center back helps me skillfully maneuver and position my defenders. The verbal directions I give during games benefit my teams by reducing our mistakes and limiting the opposition's scoring chances. In addition to playing soccer for many years, I have volunteered as a youth soccer coach and helped with youth goalie clinics.
I hope to play collegiate level soccer because I love playing at both the high school and club level. I am excited to take the next step in my career. I believe I have the ability to succeed as a student athlete at the collegiate level because I am hard working and respectful. I set and maintain high goals for myself. While being a multi-sport athlete (varsity tennis and recreational basketball in addition to soccer), I still make time for several school clubs including Model Congress, Ignite, SADD, Sports Central and Hope for the Heart. I am very focused on my academics, maintain high grades across all of my classes and have strong connections with my teachers.
I love competition and being part of a team. I thrive on helping my team succeed and improve. I am excited for the next level of competition and looking forward to helping lead my next team to success in the future. Putting my body on the line for my team has never been a question as I do everything I can for our success. Seeking to be a leader both on and off the field.
