My goal of playing college ball is very high. I’ve always dreamt of pursuing my soccer dream as far as it can go. Ever since I was a little kid I dreamt of going big in soccer and it’s still very much what I would like to do. In my opinion what makes me a good candidate is I am very devoted into putting in my very best in training and in games. I am committed to work as hard as I can to become the best player I can truly be. You’ve probably heard many people say that but for me it’s what really makes me happy. Stepping out on the field and playing the game I truly love and desire. Every time I make a mistake I try always to see what went wrong and how to never make it happen again. If I’m being honest my grades academically isn’t great but it isn’t bad either, I’m a B student and I do tend to put in work into my grades as best as I can. I know grades are just as important in order to go into a good college, but if I’m being honest I will say I put in more work into soccer than in my academics. I’m a freshman as I write this statement but I know I can be better than a B student and will work just as hard I’m getting my grades up as well. I have a quote that I always go by is to never give up, and that’s for school, soccer and anything to which that applies to. I will always give it my all for the 90 mins of the game, no matter the score, no matter who’s watching, I will always end the game as hard as I can. To whoever reads this thank you very much for taking your time and reading my statement. I hope to be one of your chosen candidates and once again thank you.
As of now it’s 2021, October 30. I’ve learned many things about competitive soccer, I didn’t realize how many people I would have to outwork just to become half decent. College ball has always meant so much to me but I never thought about how much of a big step in my soccer life it could be. There’s not a day where I don’t fantasize about being in front of this big crowd of people, with me, their on the pitch, representing whoever I am playing for. My chances of going to college soccer are low and I know I am the only one who could change that. This high school year is my junior year, I got little to no minutes. There was never a single day where I would question myself, am I meant for this ? Will I make it even to college ? These thoughts in my head never left, but I chose to train harder and play even harder. My lack of confidence went down as the season starting progressing and I was still at the bench. We came to an end on our playoff game. The reality hit. I only have 1 more year to prove who I am, all those years wishing to play varsity high school and to be on the bench most of the season really got to me. I thought I had time, but time flies by so quick I didn’t even realize it last by. My final year of varsity fut is almost done and I’ve never been hungrier. I put my faith into god for him to lead my way and to help me get better, I know the journey to success is hard, but I know I am ready to take on any obstacle coming my way. To whoever reads this, please pray for me, I will get somewhere in this soccer life, one way or another. To all coaches who see this, thank you for taking your time to read what I said, and I hope I can one day be a candidate for your college🙏
