As a student-athlete, my athletic goals do not exceed my academic goals, for I know that by securing an education, more of the world is out there in store for me. I come from a family were hard work, prayer and persistence are key components to one's success. I am a person who always aspires for personal growth as well as growth for others; whether we win or loose, there is always something to learn and improve on. To me, a good leader looks at one's potential rather than one's current strengths and figures out ways to get the best out of them. I don't get complacent when winning if my performances aren't up to standard and I don't remain smug if the team loses and I get man of the match recognition. Nonetheless, "Going the extra mile" and challenging myself to be better than my previous self are mottoes that best typify person I am both on and off the pitch.
