Personal Statement
My name is Matt Labeck and I am the starting goalkeeper for Valley Stream South High School. This is my senior year at south and our soccer team has very high expectations. Through hard work and great coaching we are currently meeting those expectations by posting a 10-2-2 record. We have a long way to go to get the results we want, but I am very optimistic about our team because of our preparation and dedication. As the goalkeeper I am very proud of our record. I understand that I am the eyes and ears of the defense and I love the vital things that define my position. Coordination, the defense, distribution, facilitating, and communication are part of my job which I take great pride in. A spectacular save is awesome, but 10-2-2 record tells a bigger story. I am also the starting goalkeeper for East Meadow Soccer Club X-Treme 97/98 NPL. I am working hard my senior year to bring my grades up and I would love to play soccer in college.
