Personal Statement
So far, my greatest memory in football was clinching our first playoff appearance in 6 years for Southern Durham in my junior year. I had never been a part of a team, so happy to be in the playoffs. This helped me to appreciate and be grateful for having the ability to play the game because not everyone does. I picked up my first injury in my junior summer, a fractured metatarsal. My time out truly made me realize that you have to get after it every day and play every game like your last. Writing this as a Senior, with my high school career done, I was able to be a part of the state of a beautiful program. I was a part of the first team to make playoffs; in my senior year, we had the best record in school history, we won our first playoff game in school history, and we took the number one needed Williams to the end of regulation before conceding off of a free kick to send us home. These experiences showed me I could lead a team to higher grounds every year. If soccer does not pan out, I will go into the medical field and become a nurse, then pursue my second dream of becoming a neurosurgeon. My perseverance, hunger, and love for the game would significantly add to anyone's program.
