Elijah's Highligh...Personal Statement
I am Elijah Nambo a Senior at Durham Academy Upper School. I am enrolled to attend Loyola University Chicago next year. I am a strong contributing member of my HS varsity soccer team. We have worked hard over the past few years and are very proud to now be 1st in our conference and third in the state. I was also the captain of my Club soccer team which recently made it to the semifinals in regionals in Dallas Texas. I am also a dependable and creative member of my club team (NCFC) where I have had the opportunity to develop leadership skills.
As a defender, I mainly play outside back but I also play center back. I am comfortable playing with both feet and I am able to discern the best way to communicate to my teammates given the circumstances. I also pride myself on leading by example.
Outside of soccer, I like to cook, draw, and spend time with my family. In college, my goal is to get a good education while also elevating my game and the program. I am still undecided however I am interested in Sports Medicine/Science, Psychology, Business, and Environmental Sciences.

Great understanding of your roles and responsibilities within a team. Physical Abilities - 89 / 100 Endurance - Great work rate throughout camp. Showed endurance that helped effectiveness, especially late. Strength - Did a good job handling challenges and played well shoulder-to-shoulder. Mental Abilities - 87 / 100 Resistance To Stress - Maintains composure in pressure situations. Great job staying focused on the task at hand. Competitiveness - Showed a strong desire to win and seems to enjoy the competition. Keep working hard! Coach's Comments Elijah showed how athletic he is and how he uses it to better his game. Elijah has a calmness about him when in a stressful situation. 1v1 Defending is Elijah's best trait an he uses it to regain possession for his team often. As a CB you have to be vocal and organize your team! Continue to improve technically as it will help you out of tough situations! Always check your shoulder first so you know whats coming or where your pass needs to go ahead of time.
