Personal Statement
I love soccer and have been playing since I was about 10 years old. Playing soccer at the collegiate level is a goal of mine and playing at an even higher level after college would be a dream come true. I enjoy soccer practices and trainings and feel that they are important in preparing me and my teammates for games. I always give 110% in practice or in a game and try to challenge myself to work beyond my abilities.
My current club team is Wake FC 03/04 NPL North. My high school team is DASH United (homeschool team). In 2019 we were the NCHEAC Eastern Conference champions and runners-up in the NCHEAC State Championship. I made NCHEAC All Conference in the 2020 season (as a Junior) and won team MVP as well. I was part of the North Carolina ODP (2004 boys) team for the last two seasons.
In July 2018, I completed certification as a USSF Referee (Grade 8) through the North Carolina Soccer Referees Association (NCSRA). I have refereed 120+ U11 - U15 Recreation and Classic games during the last two years, as Center Ref and AR. I feel that being a referee will help me with my game as a player. I am looking forward to continuing to learn more about the game and expand my soccer knowledge, technique and tactics.
I am a homeschool student participating in the Classical Conversations curriculum and taking some college-level classes at my local community college. Homeschooling has taught me how to be more responsible and how to work independently, yet be accountable for my assignments.
In addition to playing soccer, I also play basketball with my JV school team. We were the NCHEAC State Champions in 2019. I was named to the NCHEAC Eastern Conference All Tournament team in 2021 and also was the team MVP. I also play the drums and guitar.
