Personal Statement
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Trystan Wallace. I am a rising senior at Havelock High School, located in Havelock, North Carolina. I currently play for my high school team and previously played for the U-17 Force United classic soccer team. However, as of last season there was not enough participation for my age group so I was not able to continue playing on my classic team. I am the captain of my high school team and I’m a 1 year letter. I’m an honor student athlete, I’m well rounded, I’m a team player and I believe in my abilities to play at the collegiate level.
My high school coach, Skip Amaker, believes that I have the heart, drive, work ethic and intellect to play at the next level. Both he and my mom believe that my education is the most important thing that I can accomplish as a young adult. I want to major in Mechanical Engineering. I am a member of The National Honor Society as well as The National Technical Honor Society. I also referee soccer on the weekends as well as volunteering in our concession stand during soccer season all while working approximately 20 hours a week for the Little Caesars in Havelock. I accomplish many goals and work hard to maintain my 3.8333 grade point average. I believe that success is measured in how well you overcome obstacles, roadblocks, set backs and adversity. That is the only way a champion will measure his or her success.
I’ve played soccer since I was 4 years old. I’ve played at every level in my young adult life. I will be attending my first team camp this year which I am very excited about! I have played classic soccer for the Force United team for 5 years as well as playing both JV and Varsity for my high school. I want to thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
