Gabriel Rollins '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gabriel Rollins and I live in Hendersonville, NC. I have been playing soccer since I was four years old and began playing club at 10 years old. I have mostly played in center back and right back positions but also forward and right wing positions. 

I am a Senior at Hendersonville High School and a starting, defensive varsity player in center back and right back positions and team captain. I also play right wing. I am right foot dominant with passing and shooting but I am not hesitant to pass or shoot with my left. The Asheville Citizens Times newspaper just list me as a WNC Soccer Player to Watch for the 2023 season. 

I play club soccer for Highland Football Club on the 05 Premier team in mostly defensive positions.

Besides soccer, I enjoy running, biking and lifting weights. I spent a month in Northern California backpacking, mountain biking, kayaking and mountaineering. I was one of eight people out of the group of 24 that made it to the summit of Mt. Shasta. The determination, stamina, strength and working with my fellow adventurers enabled me to reach the summit. I bring these same attributes to the pitch. I am highly motivated and self-starter with training to stay in top physical condition.

I worked extremely hard with academics my Sophomore and Junior year to raise my GPA. During the pandemic, school was virtual for my Freshman year. I struggled with online learning and it affected my GPA. Now as a Senior, I am continuing to be focused in my school work. 

I show up to practice and games with a positive mental attitude and to work hard along side my teammates to reach our goals.

I have participated in a several College ID Showcase Tournaments and ID camps and I look forward to attending more in the near future.
