Personal Statement
Playing varsity soccer as a freshman at Christ The King High School, we lost 3-2 in the state finals after going up 2-0 at half time. This of course was a bitter-sweet playoff run. Going this far as a freshman was a wonderful experience but ultimately losing in the finals was very upsetting. Now I use this emotion to fuel my desire for success even more.
I’ve been a soccer player ever since I was about 3. Being of european descent, soccer has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, making this a sport that I am very passionate about. When I first started playing club soccer for Charlotte Soccer Academy I was placed on the 5th team of my age group. I worked very hard over the years and currently play for CSA at the ECNL level. This year the team is set to play in 4 major college showcase tournaments, the NCFC showcase in November, the Disney showcase in December, the CSA showcase in January, and the Jefferson Cup in March. I am about to start my sophomore year in high school and fully expect to make another deep run into the playoffs.
Soccer has taught me the values of hard work, determination, teamwork, commitment, and leadership. Soccer has helped me grow as a person and I have learned a lot about myself. I know I have the talent, skills, work-ethic, determination, character and leadership skills to play at the collegiate level. Pair that with my excellent academic achievements, I believe that I would have a positive influence at any college program and would become a great ambassador for that University.
