Personal Statement
My name is Gavin Lewis. I am a sophomore at heritage high school and I currently play for North Carolina FC Academy in the ECNL National League.
I am interested in a school where I can continue to excel in both athletics and academics. My tremendous work ethic and coachability are the attributes that I believe will allow me to be successful throughout my college career. This is evidenced by my 4.0 GPA as well as leadership roles for both club and high school teams. I was captain for both teams in 2021.
My assets include physicality, stamina, fitness, resilience, determination, and work rate. I am able to use my right and left foot accurately in all places of the pitch. I understand the importance of off the ball movement and creating space for others to receive the ball. I also will always scan my surroundings to better assess where I can move with the ball before I receive it. Maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle is a big part of my game. I will always play to the best of my ability during trainings and games. I am very coachable and am always eager to learn. I have a distinct understanding of the game and a high game IQ.
