Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Kaiden Campbell, and I am a Junior in the graduating class of 2023. I play wing and attacking mid, but I am very aggressive defensively and versatile positionally with a great weak foot.
I started playing soccer at the age of 5 and very competitively at the age of 9 training nearly every day under high level professional coaches including my club coach Ricardo Pierre-Louis. I had a very successful youth career at my home club winning nearly every tournament I attended across the region including the USA CUP.
At the age of 14 I was recruited to Shattuck St. Mary’s in the US Soccer Development Academy where I excelled and earned Honor Roll and High Honor Roll achievements and have maintained a 3.8 GPA since. Being able to play with and against high level teams such as MLS academies had a major impact on me and pushed me to make major improvements to my game. After the closure of the DA during the pandemic I returned to my hometown as a sophomore where I helped my high school varsity team to become State Champions while earning First Team All-conference and Second Team All-State. My Junior year I improved even more and earned First Team All-State and First Team All-conference.
I believe I’m a great candidate for your team because my work ethic is unmatched, and I’m always determined to do my best and win games. I have a positive mentality and try to motivate my teammates. I am a very coach-able player as I am always trying to improve myself with advice from my coaches. I play with heart and display a high work rate on both ends of the field. Staying disciplined on and off the pitch is important to me such as doing individual training, working out and focusing on my academics. My goal is to become the best player I can and to contribute to the team in every way possible.
