The moment you realize somebody out works you, you've lost. Hard work and dedication are more than words, they are a way of living. I don't hope for success, I work for it.
I am Jon Szydlowski from Twinsburg, Ohio. I am currently a senior enrolled at Twinsburg High School in the class of 2019. This will be my fourth year on the Varsity squad and this year I have the honor and responsibility of team captain. Throughout the past several years I have participated with my high school team, Everest Premier Soccer Club, 3 futsal leagues and I also played Varsity baseball while maintaining above a 4.0 GPA. I’m heavily involved in clubs and community activities and work part-time.
I am very competitive, and I am also a teammate. My team is my family…we win together and we lose together, we train and get better together, we push each other and we celebrate each other. I’m lucky to have great coaching role models to help me along the way not only improve my skills, but also how to become a better leader. Although the midfield is where I spend most of my time, I have played other positions in an effort to understand the whole field and tactical positioning and increase my versatility and skill. For me there is no off-season or cutting corners. I put in the work to get the result.
The classroom is my number one priority and my academics come first. I believe my dedication to my studies translates to the field of play; I pay attention and study the game. I have to work hard for my grades and have learned valuable time management skills this fall while participating in varsity soccer. I am taking a college prep curriculum heavy with honors, AP and dual enrollment classes.
It’s hard to believe I’m a senior and looking to make a college choice. Not sure where the time has gone, but man, it’s been a great ride so far!
