I have learned at a young age how to balance my time effectively. At age five, I started taking Martial Arts as well as playing soccer. While participating in these two sports I was surprised at how well they complemented each other as they each require discipline, practice, and determination to be successful. By learning to keep time reserved for two of my biggest passions and maintaining enough time for my classwork has let me reach my full potential in the classroom as well. Keeping my studies challenging throughout high school hasn’t always been easy but it has paid off because I have a 4.02 accumulative GPA and am ranked 12th in my class. Sophomore year was truly a defining year for me in multiple areas in my life. I became a true starter for my varsity soccer team, maintained a very high GPA, and also obtained my black belt in Martial Arts.
My senior year will have a definite impact in all three of my passions. Being elected captain of my Varsity team I have shown great leadership and am respected by my teammates. I am taking some of the most advanced classes our high school has to offer which will prepare me for the challenges of balancing rigorous academics and collegiate sports. Like Martial Arts, soccer requires respect and mental discipline to be able to be successful. Participating in these activities and thriving academically has given me confidence to unlock my true potential in college. My work ethic and willingness to learn will contribute to my success at your university both academically and on the pitch.
