Personal Statement
I am excited about the opportunity to play college soccer, and my focus is on finding a school that will challenge me both academically and athletically.
I bring to a team a strong set of technical skills and athleticism, physical play focused on possession, and a high-level of communication. When playing my best I often have a feeling of the match slowing down, and I can see the entire field and my next move clearly. My play is unselfish, and I have always enjoyed winning the possession first to create scoring opportunities for others. I am also working hard to increase my attacking threat.
I value training with max-effort and have always looked to turn a weakness into a strength. As a student of the game, I enjoy learning from others with more experience so I watch a lot of soccer. I’ve spent a lot of time talking with my coaches about game strategy and development because I love it and I want to continue improving.
Excellent grades are important to me. My success in the classroom comes from a solid work ethic and I don't cut corners. I will begin taking mostly honors classes beginning my sophomore year and I am determined to improve on my current 4.0. I wanted to challenge myself academically by attending St. Xavier HS and I will be looking for a similar challenge in college.
Also I want to surround myself with people that are a positive influence in my life and encourage me to reach my goals. I'm looking forward to reaching one of my biggest goals of attending a great college that will help me become the best version of myself on and off the field.
