Good day, I am excited to introduce myself to you. My name is Berm Joachim Betimbena. Currently, a senior succeeding at Winton Woods High School in their prestigious Global Studies Program, carrying a 3.8/4.0 GPA. After my senior year, I fully intend to pursue physical therapy as my profession, yet, my desire to continue my soccer-playing career at the college level is an aspiration as well. My family is Togolese (a small West African nation). It may be small but we make up for that by being very passionate towards faith, academics, and soccer as our second religion. In 2015, my family was granted the life-altering opportunity to move to the United States of America. I have taken full advantage of this opportunity and I want to continue to progress as a human being to attain my academic, professional, and athletic goals. As stated above, I am passionate about physical therapy due to a humbling injury during my freshman year of travel club soccer for Star SC. My family's ethnic background afforded the opportunity for me to become bilingual, I am fluent in English as well as French. Professionally, I aspire to seek a career in the physical therapy industry and as a hobby, I wish to be a French translator. Lastly, ever since I was young enough to practice my beloved sport, soccer, I envisioned playing at the professional ranks. I am a firm believer, college will support my ambitions academically, professionally, and athletically.
Yours truly, four-year varsity starter, aspiring physical therapist, and winger,
Joachim Berm Betimbena
