Personal Statement

Current: Redshirt freshman at Saint Francis University:  Division 1 Soccer. Accomplishments 1st year at College: trained and travel with team.  Achieved 18.1 BEEP Test level (second on team).  Dead Lift 490#.  First semester Deans list.

High School:

Hello,  I am an Attack Mid/ Striker/F/, but also any Middle position, as I close quick on the ball, offensively, and defensively, and am at a very fast, high fitness level.  I have been playing soccer since 5 years old.  I am a Righty, but naturally both footed and  score almost half my goals Lefty and can deliver with power either way.  I also score a lot with headers.  I work hard both on and off the field as reflected in my 4.0 GPA and ability to carry a part-time job at our local hardware store.  I also enjoy defensive challenges, occasionally rotating to Defense and hitting 70 yard goal kicks.  I've had some veteran coaches tell me I have the hardest shot they've ever seen from a high school student.  Last year I earned the honor of All-Ohio, and same for this year however have also doubled my productivity for 40 goals and 27 first assists this season, to put me #4 in Ohio for both categories.  During the high water mark of our State playoffs I also was named the United Soccer Coaches Association- Ohio Player Of The Week (1st week - November 2022)

Before my Junior year in High School the coach mostly had me in defensive roles as a holding mid or wing defender.

I also enjoy track where I focus of the 4x400m relay, 4x 800 and 800m open and made it to the State Regional Track meet last year.  My High School repeatedly has a strong track tradition.  In addition my 4 x 800 relay team broke a 29 year old school record, and just missed the 4x400 school record by .1 seconds.  I don't run the mile but ran it once last year in a meet for a time of 4:50.

Fall of 2021 I helped lead our team to a league championship, Sectional Championship, District Championship, Regional Championship, State semi Finals win, and all the way to the State Finals, despite our team only having 4 club players.  We broke the Ohio High School Athletic Association most team goals in a single season record.

I'm currently practicing with my club and getting ready for the spring club season, playing in two indoor leagues, and have been working very hard in the weight room.

Please view my highlight video of the footage for this year taken from news clips or the several games we were fortunate enough to have recorded.

I get my competitive academic/athletic drive from my mother who was a double record breaking (kills and digs) Division I Volleyball Player at Marshall University, and father who was a Division I collegiate swimmer for the State of New York University at Buffalo.

I'm leaning towards business or engineering.  Up until my senior year I was considering being an electrician, but continue to rapidly excel at soccer to new levels, love the game and desire to learn towards a degree.

Thank you.

Mitchell Auer
