Personal Statement
Being only a freshman, I know I still have a lot to learn about myself and the game of soccer, but my experience playing up to this point has been the greatest learning tool and interest in my life. I have experienced personal and team successes that have fostered my desire to continue to get better and achieve more. At the same time, disappointing seasons and injuries have developed my ability to persevere. I am inspired by my role models, coaches, and teammates to always challenge myself and to never have a comfort zone. I am a well-rounded player, thanks to my exposure to different styles of play from coaches all around the world. I believe my composure on the ball, ability to read the field, and distribution skills would allow me to compete at the college level. I am an unselfish and consistent player, which has shaped me into a leader for the teams I have played with. Soccer has built within me a foundation of morals that I apply on and off the field and it has taught me to never be afraid to set high expectations for myself. Academically, I strive to challenge myself with advanced courses, become a member of the National Honor Society, and maintain a GPA of 4.0 throughout my high school career. As a collegiate student-athlete, I plan to maintain a high GPA in pursuit of a passion other than soccer. I am looking for a college program that provides a positive and competitive environment, that challenges me to perform at my potential daily, and that holds me to high standards on and off the field.
