I became interested in the sport of soccer because of my father. He played football and soccer throughout high school and college. I would like to play soccer for all four years of high school and four years of college. Something that I have learned over the years is that I can’t just play games and expect to get better. The more I practice and train, the better I become. Quitting is never the answer.
Some characteristics that set me apart is that I am very fast on the field, a great team player and have the longest throw-in on the team. When I was a freshman in high school, my teammates voted me to be the captain of the Junior Varsity Team.
I play soccer all year long. I play with Cincinnati United's CUP team and then with my high school. These two teams take advantage of the different skill sets that I possess. I play Striker for CUP and Defender for my high school. I played on the Loveland High School Junior Varsity and the Varsity team my freshman and sophomore years. I challenged myself to improve my skills and prove to the coaching staff that I should be playing more varsity time. When my team reached tournament play at the end of my sophomore season, I was a starting defender for the varsity team.
I only have two and a half more years until I go to college. It is important for me to find an institution that has a proven record of scholar athletes. I want to focus on my education first and athletics second.
