Personal Statement

I am a strong multi-sport athlete.   I have been involved in team sports since age four, and as such, I am versatile and committed to the success of the team not just my own personal glory.  I have played basketball, football, and ran track (distance) at some point continually since age four.  I am quick, have good feet, I have stamina that lasts the full 90 minute game.  On the soccer field, I (along with our goalie) was the most verbal with field talk.  I primarily played center back, and at times was defensive midfield.  In our league, our defensive line was the second in fewest goals conceded.  My coaches counted on me to lead open fields, stay optimistic during tough games, and I served as mentor to younger players.  I began to play soccer two years ago, and literally every day since then I have touched the ball, indoor and out, on my own, on my school team, an indoor league, and a spring league.  I am now playing for FC42 Green U18 this spring.  I have learned that soccer is MY sport and want to keep playing in college.  I am a 3.95 GPA student who makes good choices on and off the field, in and out of school.  I plan to double major in Mechanical Engineering and French.  I have earned the respect of my teammates and coaches by consistently working hard and always looking for a way to get better.  I believe in teamwork and I am the center back you need.

Events

  • Bowling Green Otsego Invitational Tournament
  • 7/24/15 to 7/26/15
  • This is a competitive varsity tournament for high school teams. Each team is guaranteed 3 games in the group stages before entering the tournament bracket. There are three divisions: Division I, II, and III. The teams will be placed into the different divisions depending on how well they did in the group stages. There is a single-elimination tournament that follows the games played on Friday and Saturday in the group stages. Pleasant High School has never made it out of Division III at this tournament, but last year we made it to Division I by winning all of our group stage matches. We won our first two tournament games which placed us into the final 4 teams in the tournament. We finished fourth out of a total 40 teams. This was a huge step forward for Pleasant High School's soccer program.
