Justin Brown '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Justin Brown and I am a goalkeeper aspiring to play competitive collegiate soccer. I have been playing soccer since I was seven years old and I have always enjoyed being a keeper. I love being able to see the field as a whole and to help my team by being a vocal leader. I am doing everything I can to prepare for the next level. I train with my personal trainer five days a week to increase muscle mass and quickness. I desire to be a well-rounded athlete. Grades are very important to me (I have been All-Conference Academic the past two years) and I work really hard both on and off the field. I also strive to help others in the community. I am involved with several organizations that give me a platform to make my community a better place. During the summer of 2013 I had the opportunity to combine two of the most important things in my life, my faith and soccer, to go to Africa with Athletes in Action to play soccer and learn how to integrate my faith with my sport. This experience helped develop me both physically and spiritually. It is something I will never forget and has helped me become the man I am today. Even more important than skill, I value good character in myself, in my teammates, and in my coach. At the end of the day, what matters most is not how skilled I am in soccer, but the quality of my character.
