Personal Statement
My family along with the opportunity to try many sports has provided a strong foundation for soccer and the love of the sport and competition.
My family along with the opportunity to try many sports has provided a strong foundation for soccer and the love of the sport and competition. This next level of soccer beyond recreation & travel soccer and the diverse coaches, all played a part in my ability to grow as a person, a player, and continue my love for the sport. My success in soccer also helps my academic achievements. I am a National Honor Roll Student and involved in National Honor Society. From age three I have played soccer. It’s something I love and am passionate about. The variety of teams also allowed me to meet many new friends from a variety of schools and play with great players. Soccer has taught me to get tough, work hard, be diligent and to always have a goal to strive towards. Getting tough may sound easy but this kind of tough is the mental kind. The variety of coaches I have had have taught me many lessons; being able to take criticism, listen, and be respectful with coaches and team decisions. As a player I learned take a step back and adjust, making changes to become better, and keep working hard; that is a lesson I learned real quick. This can also apply in life and school, people are always going to be criticizing you about something. You need to take what they are saying serious, learn from it, and move forward to become better. Working hard and having a goal, go hand in hand. Without hard work it’s difficult to improve; therefore you will never reach goals. The team sports I have had the opportunity to be a part of have allowed me to grow as a person, build my self-esteem, yet push and motivate for success. The team friendships and comrade provided an environment of sportsmanship, a realization I can achieve goals, while instilling my passion for soccer and the love for the game. I continue to be involved in many things including the community and overall just try to be humble, involved in my community and I hope that drives my overall well-being to make my family proud to be part of something bigger than just myself.
