Hi, my name is Nicholas Rallis. I am currently in 11th grade at Innisdale Secondary School in Barrie, Ontario. I am a multi-sport athlete, but I would say my dominant sport is soccer. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old and I now play in the Ontario Player Development League as well as Winstars Academy (travel team). In case you are unfamiliar with the OPDL, it is an elite soccer league from which provincial and national players are scouted from in Ontario. I am a versatile player, and have played most positions, however I feel my best positions are on the wing or striker. My soccer strengths are my speed, finishing and power. I was on the starting line up for my team and the second top goal scorer for my team this season. I scored eight goals for my home club Aurora FC.
In addition to playing in the OPDL, I also play for my school soccer, basketball, and track teams. I am the captain of my high school soccer team and its leading scorer. In track and field, I competed in sprints, sprint hurdles as well as discus and triple jump. Last year I successfully made it to the regional OFSAA competition in three of my four events. On the school basketball team I was one of only two 9th grade students to make the junior varsity team in my school of over 2,000 and the only freshman to start multiple games.
This year I was chosen as one of 12 students to attend a four day leadership camp at the Ontario Education Leadership Conference. This was an amazing experience. I became a camp leader for over 200 elementary school kids. We covered many different topics including “Identifying different leadership styles” and how to implement them into various tasks.
As far as academics go, I was able to maintain a 94% average in my courses in 10th grade. In recognition for this hard work, I received 7 awards at the academic awards ceremony.
