Personal Statement

Thank you for the opportunity to display my passion and obsession for soccer (football) and education. I have been playing soccer since the age of 3 yrs, and not only do I believe that it helps me focus and build my concentration for sport, but for my education as well. My father is a college professor in Canada, and stresses the importance of a good education, which I believe as well. I have averaged above 90% for the majority of my subjects and take pride in this accomplishment, as much as I do my sport.

I have been trained by the top UEFA-A Licensed coaches from a young age, in fact many of my coaches have/are still Canadian University/College coaches. I am currently working for former EPL (English Premier League, UK) Newcastle United, Burnley FC, and Canadian National Team) player, David Edgar, coaching younger players at his academy (DEFC). I have travelled with my past academy (Red Academy) to Glasgow, Scotland, where I trained and played with the Glasgow Rangers Elite academy team in 2018/19. I was set to continue my training in Scotland when Covid-19 cancelled all plans. Since then, I have focused on my studies and showcasing as captain for my club team/provincial team in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. This year (2023) we won the OPDL Cup (Ontario Player Development League), highest ranking league for U17 in the province.

I would greatly appreciate any opportunity to showcase case my skills, vision and work ethic, both on and off the pitch.

Best regards,
Dominic Suriano
