Personal Statement
The highlight of my soccer career was during my freshman year, when I made the Eastern Pennsylvania ODP team, after getting cut from my high school team. That experience made me develop not only as a soccer player, but also as a person. I learned to never take my abilities for granted and to push myself to work harder than ever to make the team the following year. As a result of all of my hard work and perseverance, I made the team my sophomore year and became the second leading goal scorer with 14 goals.
This past season with my travel team, Parkland Area Soccer Club, I played against top tier competition all season long, culminating in an Eastern Pennsylvania Presidents Cup finals appearance. This led to my team receiving a berth in the regional cup in West Virginia. Over the course of my career, I have learned the values of leadership, teamwork, determination, perseverance, and giving back to my community, which I have applied to organizations such as Meals On Wheels and The Miracle League. Also, when I was 14 years old, I volunteered for my local youth soccer organization to help children aged 4-7 learn the fundamentals of the game. These community programs have allowed me to help enrich the lives of people in my community.
I am looking for a collegiate program that will challenge me both academically and athletically. Your program will allow me to strive to be a better person, student, and athlete. I believe that I possess the talent, leadership qualities, and work ethic to make an immediate contribution to your program.
