Personal Statement
When I was 9, I remember showing up to my first travel practice. I had always played for fun, but after going to Spain, I knew I wanted to play competitively. The first practice, of hundreds to come, was at a dusty, overgrown field in Wilkes-Barre. No one on the team really liked me at first, because I wasn't a technical as them yet. I wanted it though. My parents made an enormous sacrifice to take me to every available camp and practice. I would go to a local field every day with cones, just trying to master a move, or a technique. After a year of being on that team, everyone respected me. Years later, I find myself still infused with a love for the game, and that ambition to never stop growing as a player. Despite working 40 hours a week as a dishwasher, this summer I still find myself everyday at that local field dribbling through cones, running through ladders, and finding the back of the net. No matter what I do, whether it be focusing on academics, school, or work, I can't promise that I'll be the best, but I can promise that I'll never stop working until I am.
