Personal Statement
When I began playing soccer over twelve years ago, my family and coaches all quickly realized that I had a love and passion to be a defender. Playing the various positions on the field over the years has helped me learn how and where the ball needs to move throughout the field based on the situation and formations around me. In the last few years, that has evolved into my love for the goalkeeper position. It allows me to be the "last" defender to the goal, a commander on the field, and one who can make a large impact in a game.
Throughout my years at playing soccer, a few things were always evident to anyone who has ever coached me or watched me play; I am vocal and always stand out as a leader on the field. Anywhere I have played, I have been complimented at being a good communicator on the field as well as always displaying good sportsmanship. I never look at a loss as a loss, but rather look at it as an opportunity to grow and become a better player. My attitude does not waiver; I am always smiling, and willing to lift others up around me.
I enjoy growing as a leader off the field, as much as on the field. Off the field, I show my leadership abilities by helping serve my local community, and my school district through various volunteer projects and positions. I am also a high academic performer in the classroom, making high honor roll the past two years while taking multiple honors classes.
I am someone who will make your team better, on and off the field. My attitude, perseverance, and leadership skills will benefit your school, and your soccer program. I will consistently strive to challenge myself to be the best goalkeeper on the field, as well as the best teammate to the team, and one of the best servants you will ever have in your community.
