Personal Statement
My name is Andrew Roberto and I am currently 6’1", 175-pound Senior goalkeeper. Playing multiple sports (Soccer, Baseball, and Basketball) since I was 6 has helped me develop specific qualities such as teamwork, leadership, and commitment which I now use in everyday life. These unique qualities have given me the confidence to succeed both in school and in sports. I have learned that making a mistake or falling down is human and learning from them only makes me a better person and athlete. Listening and learning from my family, teammates, and coaches has enabled me to become a better leader both on and off the field.
My passion and competitiveness in sports have helped me develop a strong work ethic to succeed. Training/Practicing 3-4 times per week has taught me that hard work pays off. I have always played an age group above as a Goalkeeper which has elevated my game to the next level. Whenever I am participating in an activity, my parents have always told me “To always give 110% in whatever you do because you never know who is watching.” For me, being a leader and a role model is just as important as being a great athlete.
I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead of me and to make a difference both academically and athletically in a college program.
