Growing up with a British father meant that a love for soccer was in my blood and a ball was always nearby. Waking up every weekend morning to watch the stars of the Premier League play the beautiful game was a staple of my childhood and will always be a favorite past time. From a young age, players like Pepe Reina and Iker Casillas fascinated me, and their passion for the sport inspired me to take up goalkeeping. I know I have what it takes to compete at the collegiate level because adversity is nothing new to me. Living in the middle of Pennsylvania, means local soccer teams are often overshadowed by those in the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia area. My travel team, the HSA Blazers, challenged the status quo and won the PAWest State Cup in 2018 becoming the first division two team, and team from my area, to win the cup. I led my team from goal in our winning campaign and did again the next year when we unfortunately lost in the first round. I have learned from my ups and my downs, and my experiences mold me everyday to become a better player.
These experiences not only make me a better soccer player, but they make me a better individual. I wish to attend a school that provides me with all the opportunities I need for me to achieve my goals in the classroom as well as on the field. After all, I know that my education is the most important part of being a student-athlete. From my time as a two-sport athlete and as captain of my team, I believe I have the mental and physical capabilities to help your program in whatever way I can and will be an immediate asset to your team!
