Hello, my name is Benjamin Maull, and I feel like I have been training for this opportunity my entire life. My soccer "career" started at the age of 4-1/2. Through junior soccer, middle school, and now high school and club teams, I've been asked to play every position including GK. Because of my versatility and deep knowledge of the requirements of each position, I anticipate the game, adjust quickly and deliver appropriately. I consider my field intelligence as a key quality that I will bring to your college program.
Entering my Senior year this Fall 2018, I am enjoying my high school career as a 4-yr starter. The core of our Varsity squad are Seniors - we've been together since U8's. Through losing and winning seasons (thankfully more winning than losing) I've learned to appreciate the value of teamwork and trust in one another, and trust in my coaches. I would call my teammates my best friends. Throughout my high school years, three as co-captain, I humbly learned that leadership is earned by example on and off the pitch. I work hard each day to be the best team-mate, athlete and student I can be. My passion for the game led me to seek out more competitive teams to play on, and that's when I tried out and was accepted to the FC Revolution Team Santos team in 2015. It was with my FC Revs team that I attended a soccer/academic trip to England during the summer of 2016, which opened my eyes to the opportunities that exist for a skilled student-athlete who pursues their passion and applies themselves in positive ways. I'll be starting my fourth year with FC Revolution Team Santos/U19 in Fall 2018.
On a personal note, I don't consider myself a complicated individual. My short-term goals are simple - to work hard to be accepted into a well respected college or university as a Business Administration major with an emphasis on Health Administration, to be an exceptional student-athlete, teammate and friend, and to become a successful, honest and compassionate professional after graduation. With college being step 1 in this journey, I am committed to work hard my Senior year in HS classes and on the training field. I am confident when the day comes to step onto my college campus, I will be mentally and physically prepared, and committed to make an immediate impact on your team!
