Personal Statement
My name is Fabrizzio Costa, I am 15 years old. I have a GPA of 3.9, and play center forward, and CAM for both my high school team and cup team. I was born in Brazil and raised there most of my life. I moved here when I was eight years old because my dad got a job here. When I first moved here I didn’t fit in anywhere, I was always in my own world until school ended and I was able to play soccer and go to the field because that was the only thing that felt normal. I started making great friends from soccer and started to fit in more, and improved my game. I wasn’t always the fastest player or the most agile but I used my good shooting and passing to my advantage. Over the years I started to take soccer more seriously and have been seeing improvement in my game. I always love to work harder to achieve a certain goal of mine and I don’t stop until I achieve it. This year I was a freshman in High School and I already got my first letter award, the only player in my class to. I always like to have a strong connection with the coaching staff because I believe that it’s essential in the sport of soccer. Communication and trust is key. I’ve played soccer for two clubs since I moved to the United States and I’ve made lifelong friendships and memories. My parents and myself always make sure that I’m putting in work for soccer but for my academic career as well. As much as I love soccer I can’t play it all day. I also have to get my studying in. I believe that soccer has helped me with discipline and patience and taught me a lot of important lessons. My style of play isn’t perfect and I work on perfecting it everyday, when practice comes around I’m always giving it my all to improve and show my dedication to the team. My love for soccer is unexplainable. The happiest and saddest moments of my life are within those 90 minute games.
