Garrett Weaver '19 Recruiting Profile

My ultimate goal with my soccer career is to play successfully in college and to one day play professional soccer. There are many reasons I believe I am different from other recruits. 

The main reasons are:

1. Knowledge of the game and position of goalkeeper.  I've been playing soccer since the age of five and a dedicated goalie since the age of eight.  Playing in the box this long has allowed me to gain extensive knowledge and vision as a goalkeeper.
2. Desire and fearlessness when an important and/or dangerous save needs to be made.
3. Ability to quickly learn from mistakes and improve on what is needed. (Soccer and Academics)
4. Uncontrollable passion to be as close to perfect as possible. (Soccer and Academics) 
5. Dedicated and dependable.  Since starting my first game as a Freshman in the Fall of 2015, I have successfully started every game for the past 3 seasons, 57 games total.  I have served as Team Captain as voted by my Teammates during my Sophomore and Junior Seasons.   I have played through pain and injuries numerous times over the past three seasons, knowing that my Team relies on me to be there.  I take my job seriously as a leader of this Team and understand that consistent leadership and having someone the team can count on in the net is vital to our success.

Considering all of these reasons, I strongly feel that I stand out from other recruits and would make an excellent candidate for any soccer team and an excellent college student.
