Personal Statement
My life was heavily influenced by my family and how hard I have seen them work as individuals but also for myself and my brother. Both my dad and grandfather were involved with soccer as professionals and my dad started a soccer for social good non-profit that is recognized globally focusing on education but using soccer as the tool called Project GOAL (Greater Opportunity for Athletes to Learn). He involved myself and my brother with it at an early age teaching me the value of giving back, working with kids from other backgrounds, and also helped form my love of the sport. I have learned how hard you have to work to be successful through my involvement with the program both academically and soccer wise. I am always willing to work my absolute hardest so that I can become a better player and student which makes me the person I am. I am a fighter and willing to battle to get better.
My goal is to finish out my academic career in high school with a 4.0 GPA and earn a Bachelors Degree plus possibly a Masters in college. I am not totally sure but think I would like to major in Engineering or something in the medical field. I have been fortunate to come from a varied background attending an inner city charter school from Kindergarten to 4th grade which was a dual language school. I have background in spanish language and have been fortunate to accompany my dad in his travels for soccer for good to areas of the US, going to lobby on capital hill in Washington DC, and to Europe to attend the European Cup to be part of a festival involving kids from 50 other countries. I believe this has shaped my to have a better understanding of the world and the people who occupy and many times struggle to be in it.
