James D'Amato '16 Recruiting Profile

I want to be a professional Soccer player. I play all the positions very well but prefer the offense because I like to score goals and assist. I play either as an offensive Midfielder if my team uses 1 striker and 2 forwards or as a center forward if my coach uses 2 strikers. I like Cristiano Ronaldo so my favorite team is Real Madrid. My Dad's favorite team is Manchester United where Cristiano used to play at. I would like to play over in Europe or England. Hoping to attend a summer camp next year in 2013 in either one of these places to see what level I am at. I started playing at age 6 in the AYSO Recreational league for 4 years till I was 9 years old. At age 10, I joined a Soccer Club (Carolina FC) and played for their U12 Development team based on my size and skill level. At age 11, I was selected for their U11 Academy team. At age 12, I was loaned out to another Soccer Club (Spartanburg Arsenal FC) to play for their U14 Classic Select team where we won the 2009 Clemson Championship Touurnament. At age 13, I returned to Carolina FC Soccer club and the AYSO Recreational league, and I also made my High School JV team. I was the only 7th grader to make the team , and by mid-year, I was starting DMF. At CFC, I was selected to their Classic I Team. At AYSO, I joined them again because I wanted to give back to any new and unskilled players. From my early years playing up in U12 at age 10, and in U14 at age 12, I wanted to demonstrate my leadership qualities by leading my teammates on the tactics of soccer, on passing, scoring, and sportsmanship. By the following season, we went undefeated and won both our division and the Championship game for the U14 Boys in the Spartanburg Region 132 section 5E league. Now at age 15, I have been selected to join the Carolina FC Challenge team. I am very excited and looking forward for harder competion from kids my own age. I have attended several soccer camps for the past several years and this year, I will be attending Ralph Lundy Soccer Academy for the 3rd time and the 1st time in their Elite class. I plan on trying out for my High School Varsity team and being one of the starters as a 9th grader. Keep on Kicking!
