Wilson Merrill '20 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Wilson Merrill, I am a  student-athlete at Palmetto Scholars Academy. I am looking for a college that will challenge me both academically and athletically. I have an entrepreneurial spirit and intend to pursue a business degree. I have just started my junior year and have high expectations for my upcoming club and high school seasons.  I am honored to have been named all-region in both my freshman and sophomore seasons and to have won the state championship my freshman year. I have been a varsity starter my first two years and am now captain of our squad.  I believe what sets me apart from many other players is my versatility. While outside midfield and outside back are my preferred positions, I have played every position in recent years and am comfortable anywhere on the pitch.

   I am an extremely hard worker and give 110 percent in everything I do - whether it’s academics, athletics or work.  Palmetto Scholars Academy is an accelerated school and was recently ranked the second best academic school in South Carolina. I am the junior class president, in all honors and AP classes with a 4.6 GPA. I also just took the SAT for the first time and scored 1170. I look forward to finding a program that will help me grow as a person, as a student, and as an athlete.
