Personal Statement
I have been taught that being a student athlete requires commitment, perseverance, and grit. I recognize this to be true having been a student athlete since I was in second grade. The commitment to a team has been ingrained in me as I travel three nights a week two hours round trip from my home to practice. I often do my homework and study for tests while traveling to practice. This too, is an example of my commitment to my education. I strive to be a high achiever both on the field and in the classroom. I have persevered through health issues that have required me to play soccer while not feeling well and attending soccer trainings and crossfit to work myself back into top shape. I have the grit to continue playing soccer at the collegiate level by displaying that I never give up when life gets hard and when my team needs me. I have played travel soccer competitively since I was 8. I would like to continue playing competitively as a college athlete. The excitement of competing at a challenging level is what makes me what to continue playing after high school.
